Kannada Beku is being built by a small team in Bengaluru, and we want the whole thing, including this page,
to feel warm and honest. Below is exactly what we collect in the Kannada Beku app, on our website, and on our
waitlist — why we collect it, and what you can do about it. No fine‑print games.
The short version
- In the app we collect your email, an optional name, and your learning progress — that's what makes your account work.
- Crash reports and Microsoft Clarity usage analytics help us fix bugs and improve lessons. No ads, nothing sold or shared.
- Your practice recordings never leave your phone.
- Delete your account and all its data anytime, right inside the app.
01 What the app collects
When you create a Kannada Beku account and learn with the app, we store:
- Account details — your email address and, if you choose to add one, your name.
- Learning progress — lessons completed, game scores, your streak, and preferences like your daily goal and reminder time.
- Feedback you send — the text of any feedback you submit from inside the app.
- Crash & error reports — if the app misbehaves, a diagnostic report (linked to your account id, with no personal content) goes to Sentry, our error-monitoring service, so we can fix it.
- Usage analytics — we use Microsoft Clarity to see how learners move through the app — screens visited, taps, and session replays — so we can find the places where lessons confuse people. Anything you type is masked before it leaves your device, the data is linked only to your account id, and it's never used for ads.
02 Signing in with Google or Apple
You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. If you use Google or Apple, we receive only
what we need to create your account — your email address and a sign-in token. We never see your password,
contacts, or anything else from those accounts.
03 What stays on your phone
- Practice recordings — when you record yourself speaking, the audio stays on your device. It is never uploaded.
- Lesson audio — all pronunciation audio ships inside the app, so listening doesn't send anything anywhere.
04 Website & waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this site, we collect your email to notify you at launch and send occasional
updates — never spam. This website and the app both use Microsoft Clarity to understand how they're
used — in the app, that works as described in “What the app collects” above.
05 Storage & security
Account and progress data live in our database, hosted on Supabase. Crash reports live in Sentry, and
usage analytics with Microsoft Clarity. We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, and
we don't use it for advertising.
06 Your rights
You can delete your account — and every piece of data attached to it — from inside the app, or by emailing
kannadabeku@gmail.com. You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails
anytime.
